Welcome to the Anderson Area, SC Crime Stopper's website. Crime Stoppers is a Local Law Enforcement/Community Program geared toward the fight against crime. It involves the public, media and the local law enforcement.
Anderson Area Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards up to $1000 and anonymity to citizens who furnish information leading to the arrest, bind over and/or conviction of all felony and certain misdemeanor offenders and the recovery of stolen property and dangerous drugs.
Anderson Area Crime Stoppers can receive your tips via telephone, on-line, or even by text messaging.
Crime Stoppers is composed of three main groups: volunteer civilian board members, law enforcement agencies, and the media. Without all three, the program would not work. Crime Stoppers is administered by the citizen board but law enforcement agencies are necessary to investigate the information received, and the media are necessary to create awareness and promote the program.
Crime Stoppers board members are not privy to specific details of tips and law enforcement investigations but are briefed with enough case history to make an informed decision as to the amount of the reward which should be paid.
So do your part and make the call, or report your tip on-line today.

At Anderson Area Crimestoppers we work with both citizens and local law enforcement agencies in gathering tips about crimes in our county. We are the "clearing house" for tips from citizens. In doing this we follow the guidelines listed below.
- BE ANONYMOUS With the systems in place we will not know the identity of the person submitting a tip because that information is ‘scrubbed’ away of caller ID, email address or cell phone number before we get the tip.
- HELP LAW ENFORCEMENT No matter how minor in importance or incomplete the information you have might seem to you, it could fit with other information that the investigator has to solve a crime.
- BRING RESOLUTION TO VICTIMS OF CRIME Solving a crime and putting away a criminal helps to eliminate the emotional strain, physical damage, financial loss and the overall negative impact for those hurt by a crime.
- YOU CAN COMMUNICATE WITH CRIME STOPPERS You can provide information initially and then add to it later and you STILL remain anonymous because the communication is through Anderson Area Crime Stoppers.
